is a poster advertising Braniff's daily 747 service between DFW and London Gatwick Braniff opened its first route to Europe in the early 1970s with a bright orange 747 nicknamed "The Big Pumpkin"... Hideous but highly visible. Several European route openings followed (Paris, Frankfurt, Zurich, Amsterdam) with a fleet of brightly coloured 747s and 747-SPs, the short body / long range version which was bought for a short lived Tokyo route from Dallas. In 1978 Braniff became the only US airline to fly the Concorde between Dallas - Fort Worth and Washington with their own crews, on planes owned by British Airways and Air France which flew the onward transatlantic routes to London and Paris. They folded in the early 1980s, but nobody can blame tham for having lacked style... This is an original poster from the time, 21 x 28" and in very good condition. Shipment in a tube, protected by a plastic sheet.
