After an perfect 11-0 regular season, Coach Paul "Bear" Bryant's Crimson Tide needed to defeated a powerful, top-ranked Nebraska team to securd the National Championship. But the Huskers had otehr plans and destroyed Alabama at The Orange Bowl to claim the National Championship for the 1971 season. To open the regular season, Alabama made a trip to Southern California to face John McKay's Trojans at the L.A. Coliseum on September 10, 1971. It was a tough test, but the Tide came away with a hard-fought 17-10 win. This is an original program to that meeting in 1971 in very good condition. T is some minor handling wear, and a slight vertical crease on the front cover. But inside waits a beautiful IN-PERSON marker signature of the legendary Paul Bryant (see photo close-up) as well as 20+ of his Crimson Tide players on the photo pages. Players include Terry Davis, Bill Davis, David Bailey, Wayne Atkinson, Johnny Musso, Bobby McKinney, Jim Patterson, Robin Parkhouse, Jimmy Horton, Jim Simmons, Tom Lusk, Jim Grammer, Steve Root, and some others we can't figure out. All signatures were obtained IN-PERSON and are guaranteed authentic for the life of teh item.
