1971 George Weiss Single Signed Baseball

1971 George Weiss Single Signed Baseball. Though his name is not widely known by the casual fan, Weiss stands as one of the most noteworthy architects of the Yankee Dynasty, a fact not missed by the Baseball Hall of Fame which inducted Weiss a year before his 1972 passing. First serving as director of the Yankee farm system from 1932 to 1947, then transitioning to the role of the club's general manager until 1960, Weiss was instrumental in bringing nineteen pennants and fifteen World Championships to the Bronx. Presented is the only Weiss single ever to reach the major auction block, quite possibly the only specimen in existence. His side panel inscription rates 7/10, and reads "All best wishes, George Weiss, 1971," suggesting the "Harmon Killebrew All Star" sphere was autographed at his Hall of Fame ceremonies. A true feather in the cap for any advanced Yankees collector, this is a treasure unlikely to surface again anytime soon, if ever. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentication. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA. Grade: 0, Service: Authenticated, Service No.: 2214406
