's a .999 Fine Silver Mardi Gras Doubloon from the Krewe of Venus. This heavy silver doubloon is from 1971 and honors the Empress Josephine (Napoleon's Wife) on the reverse (shown) and the parade's crest, the Venus de Milo on the obverse. This was one of the largest ladies parades in the City. The silver doubloon weighs about an ounce. The doubloon is in nice shape. These doubloons are issued to the members of the organization only, and usually 1 per member. They are not thrown at the parades and can only be obtained from members of the organization.
