Of all of the Penske/Donohue press kit I’ve seen andcollected in over 30 years, this is one of my 2 rarest I was able to find. This is a 1971 Kirk F. White / Roger Penske Sunoco Ferrari 512M press kit. The press info discusses developing and preparing the car, but no mention of it having raced yet. However, since it includes 2 photo of the car racing at Daytona, it must have been sent out for the second race which was at Sebring. It has a special ‘Sunoco Ferrari” envelope, but not the usual press kit jacket which most of the Penske presskits had. Since it was only going to eventually race in 6 races, either a jacket was not ready yet, or they never made one for this car. Since this is the only one I’ve ever seen, I don’t know for sure. It contains: - 4 8.5 x 11 glossy b&w photos - 5 sets of press information on the car, team and drivers Mark Donohue (not Donahue) and David Hobbs - Special “Sunoco Ferrari” envelope I’ve kept it carefully stored with the photo and press sheets stored in separate acid-free sleeves (with an acid-free rigid board to protect it), and then the entire press kit was stored in an larger acid-free sleeve. I will combine shipping as best I can to help save you shipping costs . The Penske racing team has been one of the most dominate racing team in history.
