This auction is for an extremely rare ORIGINAL 1971 RUPP BLACK WIDOW minibike. This is a no excuses vintage Black Widow that would be a great addition for anyone collecting "Old School" minibikes. You may have seen some recent auctions for what appear to Black Widows but are just knock-offs or Frankenstein Bikes - THIS IS THE REAL DEAL!I encourage interested buyers to view the bike and ask any questions you may have before bidding. My Black Widow is unmolested and in great condition for its age. T is some rust and pitting on the rims, shocks and light kit. The original Rupp Motocross tires have slight checking but have full tread knobbies. The seat cover has 2 very small tears on the rear sides and the frame is straight with no bends, cracks or repairs. The seat pan has the original Rupp serial number ID label #1 201773 . This is a very fast minibike with a strong motor and rebuilt Dellorto UA 19 S carb. Everything works on this bike - one pull to start and you can ride it all day. The gas tank is clean on the inside with no rust . T are a couple of small dents and one handle bar dent on gas tank as shown in picture. This bike also has the optional 6 volt light kit and rear lift bar. I have seen other Black Widows on eBay that are either total junk or a hodge podge of misc Rupp parts. This bike has all the correct features that distinguish it from the other fine Rupp machines in that era such as: 28 Spoke 12" Rims Rupp Motocross Knobby Tires Dellorto Carb Chrome Straight Pipe Exhaust Tecumseh 4 hp Motor ( model # HS40 55355B Serial # 1139B ) RUPP OPTIONS Included : Light Kit Rear Lift Bar USA Plate I am also including some additional accessories with this bike: Original 1971 Rupp Sales Brochure that has the dealer pricing from Schmidt & Serafin, Inc. in Waterbury, CT. New set of Blackwidow reproduction gas tank decals Shipping Options: Pick-up bike at my home in central Connecticut . I can disassemble the bike, pack it in 3 boxes and ship UPS. Crate and pallet whole bike in wooden container and ship via truck to any business address in the lower 48 states. The shipping company is the buyers' decision. I will help any way possible. T would be an extra cost of $150 for me to buy the materials and build the wooded container.
Winning bidder to email me within 2 days to confirm shipping address and method of payment. Shipping costs will be the buyers responsibility.I have received many questions regarding the Reserve Price so I thought it would make sense to post it. The Reserve is set at a low price of $1,800 . This is a very low price considering what other Blackwidows in similar condition have sold for. Also, if you consider what it would cost to buy a used BW in need of repairs (if you could find one) and get it to the same condition as this original bike, you would spend considerably more than $1,800 in parts alone not to mention the labor cost. Don't miss your chance to buy a one of the most desired and rarest of Rupp minibike's that will only appreciate in value over time.
