This week I will be listing a dozen or so old books for a friend who recently bought the collection of John DuMont in Hancock, New Hampshire. The focus of the collection is hunting and shooting, guns, and histories and biographies pertaining to the early days of the American West. T will be mostly first editions, with some signed by the authors. Most have been signed by DuMont. T's a very nice copy of COLT'S DOUBLE RIFLES, 1953, by Fred Mills, signed. A couple auctions will have reserves, but most will start at $9.99 with no reserve. See my other auctions for more of these books, and check them out for the next few weeks, as I expect to be listing the rest of the collection for my friend. This Book: Buhler, Kathryn C. American Silver 1655-1825 in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Boston; Museum of Fine Arts/ New York Graphic Society: 1972. A very important and finely written catalog of this extensive collection of New England, New York, and Philadelphia silver. Each entry is illustrated and fully described, and many marks are illustrated. A handsome production, and a pleasure to use and peruse. Both physically and scholastically, the model of what a collection catalog should be. Hardcover. 2 Volumes in original case. Approx. 7"x11.5", 705 pages, b/w illustrations.
