1972 Topps Football Series 1 & 2 Set Excellent Mint A Classic Vintage Set from Dean's Cards This 1972 Topps Football set contains only the 1st and 2nd series. The Third High Number Series is NOT INCLUDED . Due to the scarcity of the third series it almost makes the complete set uncollectible and many collectors only collect series 1 & 2. The card fronts in this set are either verticle or horizontal and include the players photo with a thin colored border surrounding it. The player's name and position are below the photo. The player's team is above the photo in large bold letters. Key rookie cards included in this set are Lyle Alzado, L.C. Greenwood, Charlie Joiner, Archie Manning, Jim Plunkett, John Riggins, and Roger Staubach. The approximate book value for this set (Series 1 and 2 only) is $650 . The star cards grade as follows: #13 John Riggins RC ExMt, #55 Archie Manning RC Ex, #65 Jim Plunkett RC ExMt, #100 Joe Namath ExMt, #110 Gale Sayers ExMt, #122 Roger Staubach ExMt Plus, #150 Terry Bradshaw Ex, #165 Johhny Unitas ExMt, #200 Roger Staubach ExMt, and #244 Charlie Joiner RC ExMt.
