1973 GOTTLIEB HIGH HAND Up for auction is a 1973 Gottlieb High Hand EM "Wedgehead". Designed by Ed Krynski ; Art by Gordon Morrison ; Production - 4,950 units ; 2 flippers, 1 pop-bumper, 4-bank targets (4), 1 kick-out hole. Another great EM "Wedgehead" from D. Gottlieb & Co.. This game has a cards/gambling theme which is very popular. If you love to shoot at drop targets this game has 16 of them to take out. One of the more colorfull wedgeheads with lots of red and yellow and neat playing cards. Every target you knock down lites a card and scores points when you collect your bonus. If you knock down all 16 cards, you have 2 down-lanes with a special lit to win a free replay that alternates with the upper-center kick-out hole special. That's when it gets fun! You can really rack up points quick! This game was in a bowling alley in a small town and the owner gave it to his son. He played it for several years and then stored it. It was always in a climate-controlled dry area. It wasn't being played much, so he decided to sell it. Description: Mechanically, this game seems to be playing 100%. Someday you may want to install a flipper rebuild kit but I would play with these for a few more years - they have enough power to knock down all the lower and upper targets with no problem. I think the flipper fiber board links are wore just a bit which is normal for the amount of plays on this game - about 118K. Everything seems to be scoring like it should. I've played about 40 games on it so far and it is working great. The cabinet is very sturdy and nice for its age with the exception of a piece of wood missing on the front right side of the head of the game. T is one picture that didn't come out too good because of poor lighting. It is of the left side of the cabinet and the paint looks darker and yellowed. See the picture of the front of the cabinet or the right side and that is what the left side looks like. The paint on the cabinet is uniform throughout. Other than the one defect of the head of the game, the rest of the cabinet looks real good for it's age. The playfield has your typical wear below the kick-out hole that is common for these games. T is also a little dry-cracking and one long vertical line of paint cracking that is not even noticeable when you look at the playfield and/or play the game. T is a small amount of insert wear. All in all, the playfield looks very nice for a game this old. The playfield actually looks better than the pictures show. Contact me through ebay and give me your e-mail address and I'll send you better high-resolution pictures. The backglass has some minor flaking in a couple areas - t's some really small flakes of paint that have lifted in the man's legs and middle and also in the letters spelling High Hand. These little specs of paint missing are small and hardly noticeable. I sealed the backglass with 3 light coats of Krylon Tripple Thick to prevent future lifting. I cleaned and removed minor rust from the coin door, the coin entrance plate, and the legs and placed a coat of wax to protect. All of the above mentioned parts are shiny and look real good. The game comes with 28 ½" legs. I replaced the coin entrance plate inserts and placed new labels. T's a new matching set of locks and keys for the coin door and the back door. Included with the game are 2 schematics, a manual and extra score cards. The game is set for free play. Playfield has been cleaned and 3 coats of Johnson wax applied. All the playfield posts have been cleaned and polished. I've replaced all the rubber rings and changed all the bulbs to cooler 47's. Score reel plastics were cleaned with Novus 2. A shiny new ball is also included with the game. If you need any additional pictures, please contact me within a day of auction close and provide your e-mail address. I will try to get them to you just as soon as I can. I have put a low reserve on this game and have it priced to sell. I guara...
