This is a very nice rare vintage 1973 Old Mr. Boston Straight Bourbon Whiskey Clown Head decanter bottle .The decanter is empty and it still has the Old Mr. Boston label & state of Indiana tax stamp on the left side near the bottom. There is some wear on the Old Mr. Boston label (please see photo), but the Indiana tax stamp is in excellent condition. The U.S. Internal Revenue tax stamp is still on the clown's hat and a partial piece on the back of his head. The decanter has "PERU Indiana Circus City U.S.A. " painted in large red letters on the lower right side. There is some slight wear on the paint on some letters (please see 4th photo). The clown is painted in bright colors and his eyebrows, eyelashes, lips and hair are all raised from his face and of course his nose protrudes almost 1" from his face. There is a thick gold band on the base. The bottom of the decanter has "Series No. 1 OMB No-25 1973 Royal Halburton China" in raised letters. The decanter measures 11 1/2" high and 5 1/4" across the widest area and is quite heavy weighing almost 2 1/2 lbs. The decanter is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The gold base has a few light scuff marks and some tiny areas where the gold is slightly discolored, but considering this decanter is 38 years old is in pristine like condition.
