From the catalogue: "Each coin is flawlessly executed in sterling silver: 92.5 parts pure silver and 7.5 parts copper alloy. Held in the hand, and turned slowly, the constantly changing light is reflected from the mirror surfaces of these glowing Coins. The $10 coins contain 1.44 troy ounces of silver each, the $5 coins .72 troy ounces each. Altogether a private treasury of over 2.5 troy pounds of precious sterling silver". The official 28-coin Olympic Presentatio Case holds 14 $10 and 14 $5 coins, in 7 seperate themes. The case is covered in brown vinyl embossed with the 1976 Olympic logo and comes with individual lock & key. These are the first $5 and $10 coins ever issued by Canada. These coins were struck by The Royal Canadian Mint to help finance the 1976 Olympics. Each coin is encased in a transparent crystal styrene protective capsule.
