1976 Chelsea Clock Co SHIPS BELL 6" MAHOGANY STAND, model # L-65.Purchased in 1976, the year of the United States Bicentennial, this clock was always kept on the same shelf, wound carefully, owned by my family all this time. It keeps perfect time. The ships bell rings out beautifully.Serial # 790973. The clock comes with the original key which winds both the time and the chimes. Also included are the original small book of directions. I have contacted the Chelsea Clock Company in Chelsea Massachusetts, and they report this clock retails currently for between $2400 and $3000, perhaps more, as it comes with the original mahogany stand. For sale by original owner. Note: The bells ring a few minutes ahead of the hour. The Chelsea Clock Company feels that this could be corrected easily by them as well as a cleaning, for $300 to $400. The clock has not had any problems, so we never sent it in for cleaning or anything else. Please take this into consideration before you bid. Photos show the clean and shiny brass case, the serial #, the excellent condition of the wood stand, and most importantly, the clock face which is in very good condition.
