This is a mint Sovereign Queens Spoon Collection, Member's Edition, in hall-marked sterling silver embellished in 24 carat gold presented by The English-Speaking Union of the Comonwealth. The original price of each spoon was £22.00 (when the price of a GALLON of petrol was little more than 25p). When the Bargain Hunters and Flogits say, when you bought an item at £10.00 and sold it 30 years later at £10.00, 'you've got your money back' you certainly haven't!! £30.00 pounds in, let's say 1980, could have bought 10 times as much as in 2010. When I started married life a week's shopping came to about £6.00 - how much does it cost now? Anyway...
