The Sporting News Collection The John Rogers Archive is proud to announce the recent acquisition of The Sporting News collection. Founded in 1886, The Sporting News became the dominant American publication covering baseball. Included in this amazing collection are pre war players, cabinet photos, original artwork featuring 100's of Hall of Famers, original Charles Conlon photography, etc. Over the coming months we will be offering some of these incredible photos on ebay so please be sure to check my auctions regularly as there will be something new listed weekly. On the back of each photo is a hologram stating that the photo is authentic and from the Sporting News Collection. Photo Description: You are bidding on a 8" by 10" Press Photo featuring George Brett third baseman for the Kansas City Royals. Date: 1977 Photo Type: Type 1 Photographer: Chuck Kneyse Photo condition: These photos emanate from a working news archive and thus concede routine physical imperfections that can include production faults, hand placed editorial notes, and paste up residue. These details are typically apparent in the auction photographs which show the front and back of the photos. Also, creasing, boarder chips, and minor paper loss can occur.
