Welcome to the auction for my 1977 Scimitar. As you can see from the photos and title, it is non-standard in both colour and engine. The previous owner had the 2.9L Ford Scorpio engine and 5 speed manual box installed professionally a number of years ago. Mechanically, it's all very good, no knocks or bangs, and pulls evenly through all five gears. The paint job is starting to show a few signs of age, a little bubbling here and there, and a couple of cracks, but on the whole, still looks very neat and presentable. The worst area for paint is on the front n/s bumper. I can only assume when it was done, the rubber wasn't properly prepared. I was intending to strip all the paint and re-black both front and rear bumpers. Engine bay is still the original, boring green, but that doesn't show up when you're driving around! The cars interior is generally good, headlining has been replaced in the recent past, so it doesn't sag. All the interior panels have also been removed, cleaned, and sprayed in a lighter camel-coloured finish. The front seats could really do with being re-trimmed, as they are pretty tired, but I also have a spare set of front seats which are in very good condition, save for a small tear on the vinyl side of one of them.
