The manager would clip this sheet to his clipboard so he could refer to it during the game.This sheet came from the estate of a long-time employee of the Texas Rangers and was used during a New York Yankees vs. Texas Rangers game.This is the Visiting Manager's Copy of the Batting Order Sheet which belonged to the New York Yankees. The Yankees manager at this time was Billie Martin.It doesn't have a date written on it, but this is the sheet used for the batting order in a 1978 game as listed at the top of the sheet.
