This guitar is a 1978 Gibson Les Paul Pro, and it is in great condition. I did not believe it was a '78 model when I first saw it until I checked the serial number (70448500). It was hand made by the skilled luthiers at Gibson's Nashville plant on February 13th 1978. Everything is original including the P-90 pickups which have that classic 70's tone. It has an ebony fret board with pearloid trapezoid inlays, cream binding on neck and body, chrome hardware, and ebony finish. The body is solid mahogany with maple top and maple neck that produces that classic Les Paul tone you just can't get with any other instrument. It has some buckle rash on the back of the body and the back of the neck has about a 2 inch by 1 inch place where it appears the original owner started to remove the finish, but did not complete the job. The neck has the 60's profile and the action is low and really fast. I purchased this guitar from a local Gibson dealer about 6 years ago and they had purchased it from the original owner. It comes with the original hard shell case. I also have the original pick guard which I took off just because I thought it looked better without it. This is one of my favorite guitars I have ever owned and I really hate to see it go, but I recently injured my back and as much as I love a Les Paul, they are HEAVY! 11lbs to be exact. This read more
