TRIUMPH STAG 1978 Rover V8 with LT77 5 speed manual and Holly carb, ive always loved these cars but have always had nothing but grief from the original mechanicals. My wife hates convertibles (long hair) and i have never been able to get her to enjoy a drive in one, i on the other hand love them, the open road the sound of a V8 etc etc so when she produced two boys for me i wanted something i could go out in and enjoy with them. This is the concession. The Stag has a built in roll / T bar and i was able to fit 4 point seat belts that incorporated their booster seats, the rover engine and box gave utter reliability so little risk of being stranded some were dangerous and this particular car had been fully restored in the late 90s to a high standard and suffers none of the usual corrosion problems you will find in most cars this age. It is rumoured that the DVLA/ Gov. will be moving the tax exemption date again shortly which should make her tax free in the near future. Basically a low cost, reliable solid bucket of fun.
