Western Flyer RamRod II

This is a 1978 Western Flyer brand RamRod II chopper style bicycle built by Murray Ohio Mfg. It has a similar frame to the Fire Cat and King Kat (the owner's manual shows the Fire Cat on the cover). This bike comes with everything that came in the original box such as owner's manual, warranty information, packing materials, right down to the box itself!!

The bike has been assembled and displayed, but has never been ridden.

What could be better than a vintage chopper straight from the '70's in absolutely beautiful condition. No need to worry about tears in the seat, bent wheels, etc since they're all brand new.

This would make a great bike for display, riding around car shows, or so your child, grandchild, nephew, etc can have a truly unique bicycle that no other kid in the neighborhood will have!

The Mfg tag shows a build date of 06-78, and shows Murray Ohio Mfg Company, Lawrenceburg, Tenn., U.S.A. The seat has a tag that has "Troxel" with a build date of 5-31-78 and another tag that reads 98 X 122 (presumably the metric measurements of the seat?). The top tube height of this bike is 25.75".

The tires are Carlisle 20 X 1.75, the front is a Super Ride, the rear a racing slick, both have the factory markings on them. The inner-tubes slowly lose air, so if you plan on getting this bike for riding I recommend replacing them (especially considering their age). The brakes are Shimano coaster brakes.

T's a minor rub mark on the forks from movement inside the box prior to being assembled, and the decals on the tubes are very slightly curled on the bottom side, but are in very good shape for being 28 years old.

This is a rare chance to get a new 70's chopper style bicycle!

The bike will be disassembled and packed in the original carton, with some additional protection.
