1979 Russian Gold Chervonetz coin in uncirculated condition. The obverse of the coin bears the Soviet 'Hammer & Sickle' emblem surrounded by chaffs of wheat . The above legend translates to 'Workers of the World Unite'. The reverse design features a Soviet worker sowing seeds, with machinery and factories in the background. Above the workers head is the value One Chervonetz (10 Roubles) and below is the date. The Chervonetz was first issued in 1923 by the RSFSR (Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic) Government, which was the forerunner to the USSR (CCCP). It was struck again in 1975 and issued each year until 1982 using the same design with new dates. Struck in .900 Gold with a 22mm diameter.
