The Royal Geographical Society World Clock made in 1979. The clock was crafted in solid mahogany and hand-worked brass surmounted by a porcelain globe embellished with 24 karat gold. It is further certified that the clock is a 15-jewel movement by Arthur Imhof S.A. of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Clock measures 10 3/4 inches high by 8 7/8 inches square at base. It is a 24 hour clock. This clock gives the local time as well as the time in any part of the world. This World Clock comes with all documentation and certificates. Even comes with the original bill of sale and instruction for care and maintenance. Clock does have one very small and very minor nick in globe which will be shown in the pictures. Clock does work, as our clock guy wound it a little bit just to see if it did work. May need a cleaning from sitting around. When you buy a clock, the first thing you do is get it all cleaned and oiled, and I am sure that the new owner who buys this one, will do that. This world clock is extremely elegant and gorgeous. Made from the finest materials. You won't find another one like this. Great add to any collection you may have. ORIGINAL COST THEN WAS $2800. AND ONLY WENT TO AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD HOLDER. HOW MANY WERE REALLY BOUGHT. RARE FIND
