Bought in 1980. Never used, carried or sharpened. Comes with original sheath, box and brochure. The brochure is dated 10/79.Size : closed: 5-1/4", blade: 4". Features : (per Gerber's 1979 catalog) Locking blade is 440-C surgical stainless steel (Rockwell C57-59); has been double-wedge ground by Gerber craftsmen: they are done one at a time; is quite thick (.125"); has a built-in safety pause to prevent snap-shut closing. Brushed brass frame is a one-piece bolster and liner for extra strength. The edges are beveled, so t are no sharp corners. Hinge pin is solid brass. Handle inlays are tropical hardwood.

It also has some marks inside the thumb lock recess, and a few small faint scratches. The blade has a few small faint scratches. The wood insert is dry, and the grains are opening. Sheath : Flap has a faint scuff mark at the top and some light wrinkling from opening the snap. Markings: Tang stamp: "GERBER".
