This is for an authentic used Olympic torch from the Lake Placid 1980 winter games. The torch is conical, designed with a silver ring on which the caption is engraved. Caption: "XIII Olympic Winter Games Lake Placid 1980". Below the silver ring is a bronze ring that has the manufacturer's name: Cleanweld/Turner Sycamore, Illinois. The torch is used and has some minor marks and one dent on the leather wrapped handle. The overall condition of the torch is very good. The torch is 28 1/2 inches long and the top diameter is 9 inches. In a symbolic gesture to the ideals of ancient Greece, the 52 runners in the torch relay of the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Games were selected to represent all 50 states plus the District of Columbia and the host village of Lake Placid.
