1980 SCHWINN DELUXE CRUISER 5-SPEED BIKE/BICYCLE KRATE!

1980 SCHWINN DELUXE CRUISER 5-SPEED BIKE/BICYCLE KRATE!
Description is an original VINTAGE February 1980 (serial number is BR526724) men's 26" SCHWINN DELUXE CRUISER 5-speed balloon tire bicycle. It is in the original and very appealing black colored factory paint. If you like hard to find quality bikes, this may be a great bike for you. It was always stored inside in a clean dry area. With the insanely high price of gas (and the economy being bad) now is the time to ride a cool vintage bike!
*I found this bike approx 7 years ago in Sheboygan, Wisconsin w it had been in long term clean dry storage. This bike has been my personal rider and I put a bunch of miles on it this summer. Talk about a SMOOTH ride!!!!! This is an AWESOME bike!
*The bike is very original except for a few fun upgraded parts. The bike is the deluxe 5-speed model which is very hard to find to begin with. It has the factory Schwinn SPRINGER front fork! The bike has the factory Schwinn wide chrome handlebars. They are so comfortable to ride with. We added a Stream Ride comfort bike seat. It makes for a much more comfortable ride!
*The tires are the wide 26x2.125" BALLOON TIRES. They are new last spring and are the flamed FIREBALL tires. I put some miles on them this summer but they are still in very good condition. Of course, they both hold air. The bike has te original chrome Schwinn rims front and rear.
*The bike is an original FIVE SPEED and it the gears do operate. For fun, we replaced the original boring shifter with a STICK SHIFTER from an old Orange Krate bike. It makes for a FUN ride and everyone that sees the bike seems to notice it! The shifter alone is worth over $100 if you are lucky enough to find one. The hand controlled brakes are operable as well.
*DIMENSIONS The stand over height is approx 31". The distance from the floor to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 29 1/4". The distance from the center of the crank to the top of the seat post clamp is approx 18 1/2". The center of the handlebar stem to the center of the seat post is approx 22". The bike will accomadate most any rider comfortably. The seat height is easy to adjust.
*NOTED FLAWS It is not 100% flawless but is nice! The paint looks good for a 25+ year old bike! (has typical chips but is better than most) The chrome is shiney but is not perfect show quality. The bike shifts through the gears but they could be fine tuned.
*This is a relatively nice original unmolested bicycle. A great bike to ride on relaxing days through the park or to the beach. Also would be a nice item to display in a shop, restaurant, rec room, sports bar, etc. Stand out from the crowd and be the envy of people who see you riding by. People will enjoy seeing you on your vintage bike! A great classic bike at a great price
*Why not ride a bike? You will live longer, feel better, and save $$$ vs of the insanely high cost of gasoline. If you are looking for a fun bike to ride and enjoy this may be it! A nice bike to cruise the beach or your local park! Priced way less than a dime store bike that wont be around 5 years from now, much less 30+ years like this one! Please give this bike a good home and DON'T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! Classic bikes are very cool because not everyone on the block has one! People love to see and talk about and ride these classic bikes! They are more popular now than ever before!
*This may be a great Birthday or other special holiday gift for someone! It is never too soon to think ahead and get someone something they may really like!! This starts reasonably with ABSOLUTELY NO RESERVE so bid early and don't miss out! These are getting to be hard to find in any condition and to my knowledge, have not been reproduced.
*Sold as is simply because it is used. I try my very best to d...
