Up for your consideration is an early '80's Schwinn cruiser 5. This has got to be one of the last chicago schwinns, it has all the typical factory period parts - leftovers! It is complete, correct and has nice original frosted red paint. Chrome is in pretty damn good shape too. Being an arizona bike, the original tires are long gone and the replacements are drying out too but still hold and are rideable. The wheels have some sweet sweet high flange schwinn approved hubs, heavy duty 105 gauge spokes and non marked rims, unfortunately this is not a drum brake model. . Saddle is a messenger, brakes are dia-compe front and rear, schwinn pedals with very legible caps and the derailleur is an SA GT 510 controlled via thumb shifter. Cables and bearings could use some attention but it rides and damn does it ride smooth! This would make a fun winter detailing project and a beautiful rider in the spring!
