1981 Michelsen Sterling Silver Christmas Spoon Fork Denmark This is an UNUSED Christmas set, spoon and fork, from 1981. It is in the original box with the Michelsen pamphlet, specifically for this year's Christmas set. It is gold plate on sterling silver, with an enamel design on the handles of the spoon and fork. The design is The Red Robin, and the artist is Falke Bang. On the back of the spoon and fork you can see the Christmas date (Jul) 1981 and "A. MICHELSEN STERLING DANMARK". Each piece measures about 6 ½" long. They are definitely a collectors' item, but equally can be used for dessert and look wonderful and festive set on a table. The production of these sets of Annual Christmas cutlery started in 1910 by Anton Michelsen, a Danish Crown Jeweler. Each year he employed a local artist each year to design a new Christmas set of 24K gold plate on sterling silver. T is an enamel design on each spoon and fork, special for that year. His business continued production until Georg Jensen took over the production of the annual Christmas cutlery in 2003. The shipping and handling cost for mainland USA will be added to the winning bid in the amount of $7.00. Insurance is optional. Payment must be received within two weeks of auction closing. I do not accept PayPal. I accept postal money orders, cashiers checks or personal check. I can send it overseas, but will need to change the shipping price to reflect any additional costs.
