Click photo to enlarge This is the item you will get These are not stock photos 1983 P Brilliant Uncirculated Washington Quarter Material: Copper-Nickel Clad Copper You are looking at a Washington Quarter, originally issued in commemoration of George Washington's birth. Prior to 1965 these quarters were made of silver. Modernly the common issues are made of layers of a copper-nickel alloy sandwiching a core of solid copper. Special collector issues dated 1976 and 1992-now are made of silver. Starting in 1968 the mintmark can be found on the front, just to the right of Washington's neck. Prior to that it was located on the reverse below the wreath.
