This is a 1983 NIV ( 1978 Version ) Burgundy Bonded Leather Thompson Chain Reference Bible with the original box and instruction manual. Also includes tabs to put on the Bible pages to help you turn quickly to a book (if you wish). It's in very good condition. I've gone through it front to back and back to front multiple times and I am not seeing any writing or notations. The leather cover is excellent condition with no wear. The only two notable small blemishes to call out, is some loss of lustre on the gold gilt edging and there are a few pages in I Kings and Psalms that I saw that looked like perhaps a some water dropped on it and dried as there was just a bit of waviness there. Otherwise, picking it up your impressed it's in really terrific condition. The NIV Version is 1978 which I think is just as good as the 1984. Words of Christ in red with a single ribbon marker to hold your place for daily reading.The Thompson Chain Reference Bible is a favorite of many. As a reference Bible there are really no notes or comments. The cross reference system is different than most typical center column cross reference systems. Out to the side are topical numbers. You can either follow the chain forward to see the next verse on that topic or you can look at the back and see at a glance all of the verses on that topic. It can be much faster
