1985 UKGold Proof Sovereign. Queen Elizabeth II's third portrait can be seen on the obverse of the coin (Designed by Raphael Maklouf). Benedetto Pistrucci's famous portrayal of St. George and the dragon can be seen on the reverse. The sovereign is in perfect proof condition, and is housed in its original Royal Mint Wood and Black leatherette presentation case with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA). All sovereigns are made of 22 carat gold (0.917 fine), and weigh 7.98 grams. They have an AGW (Actual Gold Weight) of 0.2354 troy ounces. Proofs sovereigns are far superior in quality compared to bullion or Brilliant Uncirculated pieces. The highly polished surfaces gives a mirror like effect, with extra sharp crisp detail. This, along with the much lower mintage figures, makes them extremely collectable. I am revising the list the coin is 1985 not 1984. added some picture to show the COA and a better picture of the coin showing the date
