This 1986-W Statue of Liberty Commemorative half eagle was graded and certified PF69 ULTRA CAMEO by NGC. This coin was struck on a burnished blank (also knwon as planchets). A common misconception is that the actual dies are burnished, when it is the blanks themselves that are burnished before being struck with the die. Burnishing is a process resulting in a smooth matte-like finish. These coins were only made at the West Point Mint and bear the "W" Mint Mark. The coin has an ultra cameo appearance! Dark mirror-like fields with frosty devices. This nearly perfect coin would make a nice addition to any collection! Mintage = 404,013 CoinValue's lists this coin for $290! AGW = .2419 oz. Current gold spot as of 4/18/09 is approximately $870! Current gold melt is approximately $210.45! All shipments are insured! Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
