Okay, so I'm relisting this coin at today's spot price of gold, which is $1419.60/ounce, so the starting bid is now only $709.80. Up for bid is a 1/4 oz. 0.9999 fine gold 1987 Australian Gold Nugget proof coin. It is in near-perfect condition. It features Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the famous gold nugget "Bobby Dazzler" (found in 1899) on the reverse. There is a chip in the plastic capsule, but the chip did not expose the coin. The gold nugget series started in 1986 and featured famous Australian gold nuggets until 1988. In 1989, they changed the design on the reverse to kangaroos. Many still refer to thes coins as australian gold nuggets regardless of what is on the reverse. They are a somewhat rare find in the USA. I will ship within 2 - 6 days of cleared payment. I am a geologist, so I travel alot with my job. If I am out of town when payment clears, I will ship the next business day after I get home.
