This is such an adorable set! Big Bird, Oscar and Cookie Monster, made by Ideal in 1987. These are becoming increasingly hard to find, and harder to find in such beautiful, working condition. Included in this set are the three characters, the two connecting cords, Big Bird’s nest, (forgot to put in photo) Oscar’s hard to find trash can lid and five matching book and tape sets. The books and tapes are: The Cupcake Caper, Big Bird’s Day on the Farm, I Think That is Wonderful, The Colors of Spring, and Big & Little Book. All books and tapes are Ideal and are in excellent condition. Could find no tears or writing in any of the books. Look to be crisp, clean and bright. (The photo shows Mother Goose tape and book, but after rechecking, I discovered a small tear on one of the pages, so I replaced it with another story.) Everything is in fully restored condition. All are clean, working properly, and look new again! Big Bird’s beak is spotless, none of the usual “spots” that come with age, no yellowing of any of their eyes…Oscar’s trash can is cool!! No chips or cracks, lid velcros to his head and his hands Velcro to the can. All intact. Each character requires 4 “AA” batteries (not included). Connect them together with enclosed cords, and you will hear the sound come from each one of them. Each character has its own on/off switch and volume control. When it is their turn to speak, they will move their mouths…and in Cookie’s case, roll his eyes, as well. Big Bird blinks his eyes and flaps his beak….Oscar will climb in and out of his trashcan…and his mouth moves when he is speaking, Cookie's eyes roll and his mouth opens and closes as he speaks. I will enclose instructions as to how to hook them up…(easy, after the first time!). You must use the Storymagic tapes in order for the functions to work properly. The Tyco brand Storymagic tapes will work in this as well, but tapes must say Storymagic. ** The cords are not original to the set, but brand new replacements. *** The cardboard book/tape holder is also not original, but were manufactured. All battery boxes and covers are clean, all battery doors close. This is a very nice set and would be a great addition to any collection or for that special child who would be fascinated by them! If you are new to ebay.......please contact me prior to bidding. Several new bidders have backed out of their bids after they have won and is just not fair to the bidders that actually want something. If you have less than 5 feedbacks and you do not contact me prior to bidding, I will have to cancel your bid. Sorry to have to do that, but a few new ebayers seem to run the bids up and then don't have any intention on completing the transaction.
