1988 S PROOF 68 or Better Silver American Eagle Dollar Struck at San Francisco 1 Troy Ounce .999 Fine Silver This is a flawless American Eagle Dollar -- please look at the photographs -- I believe it will certify as a PROOF 68 or better. This proof coin has a mintage of just 557,000. It has the slightest bid of attractive gold toning around the date on the obverse. While the past is not a guarantee of the future, buyers who have bought silver eagles, rounds, and bars from me over the past 10 weeks have seen their investment appreciate by 47% in that period.
