This is the rookie card that changed the trading card industry. The Upper Deck is without a doubt Griffey's top rookie card and also the best card of the 1980s. And with this auction, you also get his 1989 Fleer rookie -- also in Gem Mint! Griffey has once again moved to the top of his class as all of his peers have been caught up in the steroid scandal. When the history book is written, Griffey will be regarded as the best player of his generation because he did it all clean. As he nears retirement, his popularity is surging, and the value of his cards will only go higher when he gets inducted into the Hall of Fame. All the young card collectors in the late 1980s and early 1990s wanted these cards, but they were out of their price range. As these collectors get older, they'll finally be able to buy these two dream cards, so demand will remain high for these two rookies. You'll always be able to resell them if you need cash.
