1993 Jerry Langbein Custom Stag Handled Skinning Knife

Some of you Connoisseurs of Custom Blades may not be familiar with Jerry Langbein and it is your loss. His knives are as fine as anything you have ever handled and the workmanship is simply superb! Jerry is a retired Dallas Police Officer who began making knives in 1980 in Fountain Colorado (Colorado Springs Suburb). He is not given to advertising or making knives on a huge production scale so his work is perfection personified and hard to come by. This is a rather early example of a Langbein knife. Although it is already 15 years old, it is still in MINT condition. T are simply no blemishes or imperfections to describe. It is perfect. The blade is 3 inches long. The overall knife is 7-3/8 inches long and weighs 5.3 ounces. The handle scales are Stag and have four brass pins and a lined lanyard hole. The stag is beautifully fit into the bolster and the entire surface of Stag that contacts the full tapered tang and the bolster is fitted with a thin red spacer. I can't imagine how that was done but it was done perfectly and adds an impeccable air of character to the overall knife. The attention to detail must have required a great deal of time on this one! The blade is marked with a "LANGBEIN" stamp and the back of the sheath is marked "LANGBEIN 1993".
