She is in her original box, never been opened. The back of the box reads:"Hello from the Southern Plains of North America, which include Oklahoma and parts of Nebraska and Kansas. I'm getting ready for a genuine Native American Powwow, and you're invited to come join the fun!Long ago, the powwow began when one tribe wanted to form a friendship with another tribe. There was great feasting on roasted buffalo meat, corn, beans and squash. It was also a time for gift giving. The friendship bag, a deerskin shoulder pouch decorated with porcupine quills, was packed with meat, tobacco, and other gifts and presented as a symbol of friendship and goodwill.Today, tribes gather from all parts of North America for the powwow. A traditional feast is followed by friendly competition between tribes as they perform songs and dances from their past. I'll be leading "the round dance," an age-old tribal dance performed in a circle while holding hands. It originated in the circle camps, where teepees (cone shaped tents) were pitched in a circle, leaving the center free for ceremonies. read more
