History’s first limited edition plate series to feature moving parts, the CAROUSEL OF DAYDREAMS collection is a beautiful tribute to the innocence of childhood and its happiest memories. With just the turn of a key, the carousel figures actually move up and down on the gilded center pole as the plate plays a sweet rendition of “Thank Heaven For Little Girls” Dreamy eyed and completely enchanted, she and her favorite dolly wear look-alike Victorian drop-waist dresses and sunbonnets. Seated on the carousel’s lead prancer, they are pretty as a picture, a masterpiece of carousel art. The deeply sculptural carousel horse sports eyelet lace trimmed tack interwoven with coral ribbon, the perfect color complement to the child’s coral costume. Morning glories and gold highlights accent the figures, rounding board and platform. The finishing touch is hand set sapphire blue “gems”, recalling the color and flash of an old fashioned carousel, these sparkling crystals accent the hand painted three-dimensional artwork.” We purchased this awesome carousel plate new in 1996. Please note some of the pictures show an unavoidable glare from the overhead lights and camera flash. Dimensions – approx. 8 ½ inches in diameter and 3 inches deep.
