1996 US Smithsonian Commemorative 4 coin GEM set Gold & Silver / Box COA. Offered is an original complete 1996 United States Mint Smithsonian Institution 150 th Anniversary Commemorative 4 coin set in the government issued wooden presentation box and paper box. Includes the Certificate of Authenticity (COA) paper folder. All coins are in hard plastic capsules and in Gem Mint condition as issued by the US Mint. Included in the 4 coin set: > Uncirculated Silver $1 dollar Denver Mint (90% Silver) > Proof Silver $1 dollar Philadelphia Mint (90% Silver) > Uncirculated Gold $5 dollar West Point Mint (90% Gold .24Troyoz) > Proof Gold $5 dollar West Point Mint (90% Gold .24Troyoz) Only 4918 sets were issued by the US Mint. Few complete sets in the original issue box exist, since most were broken up to sell or certify the Gold pieces. The 2 Gold coins alone in Grade 70 can easily run you $1,600 to $1,900.
