1997 Royal Mint Golden Wedding £5 Five Pound Silver ProofCrown Coin Weight: 28.28 Grams Diameter: 38.61mm Metal: Solid Fine 925 Silver Quality: Silver Proof Presented: Original Royal Mint Box with a Certificate of Authenticity In 1997, to commemorate the Golden Wedding of Queen Elizabeth II andPrince Philip, The Royal Mint struck a Limited Issue Silver Proof £5 Five Pound Crown Coin. The obverse has conjoint portraits of The Queen and Prince Philip, designed by Philip Nathan. The reverse design has the Royal Arms and Arms of Prince Philip surmounted by St Edward's crown dividing the dates "1947", "1997" and "20 November" and an anchor below with the denomination "Five Pounds" designed by Leslie Durbin. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks. The coin has never been out of its protective casing and is therefore in immaculate condition.
