You are bidding on a 1997 United States Botanic Garden Coin and Currency Set, complete in its original mint packaging and containing all of the items supplied by the Mint, consisting of:The master sleeveThe ten-page blurb entitled "A Living Memorial to Our Founding Fathers: The United States Botanic Garden"The three- section printed cardboard coin and currency holder, containing:One Uncirculated 1997 Botanic Garden Silver Dollar, minted at the Philadelphia Mint. One Uncirculated Series 1995 Federal Reserve Note--Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. One Uncirculated 1997 Thomas Jefferson Nickel, minted at the Philadelphia Mint, with a matte finish on both sides. This set has just recently been removed from the original mailing packaging that I received in 1997. You will be the second owner. The coins and currency have not been removed from their plastic mint holders. The nickel in this set is part of one of only two Jefferson nickel issues with the matte finish. There were only 25 thousand of these nickels issued, which is the fourth-lowest mintage of all the Jefferson nickels issued since 1938 (three early proofs have lower mintages). The nickel had six "perfectly complete" full steps--no markings of any kind and strongly struck! Both the dollar and nickel have some pleasing yellow toning on the reverse side. Please check the scans carefully. read more
