The photographs you see are of the actual commemorative round being auctioned. The pictures represent the year of the Tiger (in Chinese the name is Hu), the sign of nobility and fearlessness. Hu years are third in the cycle, following the Ox years and recur every twelfth year in the Chinese Zodiac calendar. The Chinese New Year does not fall on a specific date on the Roman calendar, so it is essential to find the exact date on which each Tiger year actually begins. Tiger people are sensitive, given to deep thought and capable of great sympathy. They can be extremely short-tempered and, at times, come into conflict with older people and or those in authority. However others have great respect for them. Often, Tiger people have trouble making up their minds, which can result in a poor, hasty decision, or even a sound decision that arrived too late. They are very powerful, with enormous amounts of courage. They are extremely compatible with Horses, Dragons and Dogs. Tigers are suspicious of others and do not make very good friends, although they attract people through their magnetism and natural air of authority. The following years of the twentieth century were the year of the Tiger: 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986 and 1998. 2010 will also be the year of the Tiger.
