A GENUINE and very rare 19th century antique Ratanakosin period Buddha statue ! This statue (amulet) of Buddha was recently uncovered in 2005 when a stupa in the city of Chiang Rai, Thailand was opened up. Admist the religious ashes were dozens of amulets/statues came out. The local Monks offered these pieces to the local people in Chiang Rai for a donation to the temple. We were extremely fortunate to obtain TWO of these pieces. They will be offered in TWO seperate auctions. If you are the winner of BOTH auctions we will include another small antique amulet that we obatined through our travels in Thialand and South East Asia. Th is beautiful image of Buddha is in the "meditating on enlightenment " pose. Buddha reflects on enlightenment while he recalls his purity and devotion toward becoming spiritually enlightened.
