19C Antique French Sterling Silver Asparagus Server/Tongs Hello everyone, over the next months I will be selling a large part of finest items from my antiques, vintages, and fine jewellry collection. About the Item: I'm offering this gorgeous Antique French Sterling Silver Asparagus Tongs of museum quality for your consideration! This lavish Asparagus Tongs are decorated with gorgeous Rococo pattern foliate scrolls, nets, flowers, leaves, botanical motif, and shells all over. Adoned with elegant black patina as well. The handle is wholly made from finest quality of French sterling silver. The blades are silver plated, pierced and embossed intricated symmetrical Rococo patterns. A rare find! It measures 10"3/4 (27.3cm) long and 3"5/8 (9.3cm) wide. Weights 8.9 oz (251g)! As hallmarks we have The French Minerva No.1 on the handle, which indicates the best quality of French sterling silver 950/1000 (finest than sterling) used in Paris since 1838. As master's mark we have on the handle, of "Henri Gabert" 112 Rue de Turenne . The blades are marked "BREVETE S.G.D.G" and number 1 and 8 on inside.
