Antique 19th Century Locking 5-Drawer Dovetail Jewelry Box Very unique handmade antique mahogany dovetail box with locking hinged lid and locking drawers. This rare lock box has five drawers of various sizes and top storage area with a removable cribbage board peg insert. The five drawers lock with the insert from the top down the approx. 7-inch brass rod. The brass hinged lid is secured by brass hooks on each side and a key lock on front. The five felt lined drawers all measure 10 1/2" wide x 8 1/4" deep but their heights are 1-2 inch, 2-1 inch and 2-5/8 inch. The box measures 10 1/4 inches tall, 11 1/2 wide and 8 3/4 inches deep. This very well made dovetail primitive box has with new replacement brass drawer knobs, new finished, felt in drawers and leather under lid. T is a few age cracks in the wood on each side otherwise this beautiful one-of-a-kind box is in excellent condition.
