is an incredible example of Japanese embroidery from the Meiji Era with vibrant colored silk and gold metallic embroidery on a gold, figured drawloom brocade ground. The large image is of a flower cart overflowing with a variety of blossoms. T appear to be examples of several types of embroidery knots, as well as gold couching. The pictures don't pick up the amazing lustre of the colors and sheen of the gold, copper and silver metallic threads, but the level of mastery in the work is obvious. Professionally framed in black, faux-bamboo wood and matted in silk. The glazing is non-reflective glass. T are two asian style hangers at the top edge of the frame. The embroidered piece dates from around 1880 or older and the frame appears to be mid-20th Century.
Pristine condition, with no losses, damages, repairs or fading. Overall = 30 X 30 inches Sight size = 22.5 X 22.5 inches I'll work with the buyer on shipping and will find the most reasonable carrier.
