Up for auction is a Rare Antique 19th Century English Pique Work Decorated Shoe Form Snuff Box. Carved wood shoe with a sliding top which opens to reveal small area that would contain the snuff, the lid removes completely, as shown. The body of the shoe decorated with small brass inlaid designs called pique work, with floral design to the toe and brass tacking to the sole of the shoe, with toe and heel plates. In overall good condition with light wear from age or use, appears to have an old repair to the top edge of shoe, to the edge of the slide. Measures: 1 1/2" H x 4" L x 1 1/4" D. This is one of 4 shoe form snuff boxes I will be offering, which were all purchased from a NYC estate of a Doctor of Psychiatry. Combined shipping available. !
