Burmese, dating from the second half of the 19th century - c. 1880. Of polished steel construction - the grip sections of broad curving form. Both faces of the hinged cutter section, and larger hand grip face are finished with fine silver and brass overlay type decoration - detailed above. The upper handle decoration incorporates an inscription - see images 5 & 6. Overall length - 4 1/4" (105mm). Very good, original period condition - no pitting to the steel.
