FRENCH THREE-QUARTER WALNUT BED with MATTRESSES antique beds were handcrafted in the 17th, 18th and early into the 19th century most were designed with a family or individual in mind the size was sometimes dictated by the room size, the size of the person the bed was being crafted for or simply the materials at hand in many cases the bed was handcrafted by the handyman of the family, out in the barn or woodshed to meet his own specifications, as well as crafting their own odd size mattress at the same time this meant t were a multitude of sizes, shapes and constructions, none of which were in any form of a standardized size the most common of these odd size mattresses is referred to as the "Three Quarter Bed", a generic label for any size bed that falls between the standard "Half" bed, which is now known as a "Twin" (38" x 80"), and the standard "Full" (54" x 75") thanks to Clinton Bedding Co., TN ~ 19th century French three-quarter bed made in walnut with superlative box spring and mattress measuring approximately 44" x 70" (all you have to do is assemble it) winning bidder can collect bed in Marina del Rey or seller pleased to make shipping arrangements entirely paid for by winner sold as described - sales are final authenticity and condition guaranteed thanks for looking please check our other auctions by ml -
