Powerful antique Gendge rug,central Caucasian,size 3.9x 6.7, circa 1895. Three large octagons ( two in red and one in white) cover entire lovely blue field ,containing geometric floral motifs are associated in particular with the Kazak group. The motif within the octagons seems clearly related to the principal motif of the Lori pambak group of rugs. The rest of the field is covered by large octagons around the large medallions and each octagons are seperated by rossette. A chain of multi-colored roesettes unfolds over the white ground of the principal border. This attractive piece is in excellent condition with very slight scattered lower pile throughout,kpsi of 8x8,complete rug with original ends and edges,double wool weft and warp. . No hole, stain, bleeding, rotten or odor. Buyer pays for shipping and insurance. Please view my other auctions.
