A very rare and beautiful Soup tureen & stand , made in Germany by Meissen. 19th century.Measures 12 inches tall to top of figural finial , modeled as a putti pouring contents of a cornucopia down the side of the cover.Magnificently embossed pure white porceline body and cover & decorated in a Fruit and Floral portraits in gilded cartouches that are reminicent of Rococco scrolls. Gilding is near perfect overall. Large tureen measures 14.25 inches from handle to handle and is 9 inches wide. Other than a few small nibbles to leaves of fruit from cornucopia , t is no damage or restoration to tureen , t is however a minor "in the making" seperation on side of base wher foot meets body of tureen, a firing seperation. Guaranteed genuine, this porcelain comes from the oldest living Miss America, who had a large collection of early Meissen and other wonderful porcelains... ALSO INCLUDED IN THIS AUCTION IS THE 21 inch in length and 12 inch in width stand which is selling together , with tureen in this auction. A very rare and beautiful Soup tureen STAND made in Germany by Meissen.19th century, is offered in this auction. NOTE...Undertray measures 21 inches long and 12+ inches wide.Magnificently decorated central Floral Painting all hand paintedportraits in gilded cartouches that are reminicent of Rococco scrolls. Gilding is near perfect overall. Large undertray or stand measures a full 21 inches from handle to handle Other than a nick to the underside of one of the handles, and a small bit of wear to white porcelain above central floral arrangement ( due to weight of tureen , no doubt, and a possible restoration to underside due to difference in glaze- mentioned for accuracy and totally unseen from artistic side. Guaranteed genuine, this porcelain comes from the oldest living Miss America, who had a large collection of early Meissen and other wonderful porcelains... It is pictured together in last photo.
